Rajat, a 35-year-old man from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, had been born with a physical disability that severely limited his mobility. Despite his condition, Rajat had always been determined to lead a self-sufficient life. For years, he worked odd jobs in the town to support himself, but as his condition worsened, so did his ability to work. When Jobin Singh Chandi learned about Rajat’s struggle, he knew that something needed to be done to ensure that Rajat could live a dignified life. Jobin Chandi visited Rajat and was struck by his determination to remain independent despite the challenges he faced. Understanding Rajat’s limitations, Jobin Singh Chandi arranged for him to receive a customized wheelchair that would allow him greater mobility.
However, Jobin Chandi didn’t stop there. He also connected Rajat with a local employment program that offered remote work opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This gave Rajat the chance to earn a steady income without the physical strain that had made previous jobs difficult. Today, Rajat works from home, earning enough to support himself and live with dignity. Thanks to Jobin Singh Chandi’s intervention, Rajat no longer feels limited by his disability and has regained the independence he always valued.
